We have spent much of 2022 celebrating 40 years of the Platte River Trails Trust. During these four decades, the Natrona County community has watched our network of trails expand, grow in new directions, and become an essential asset to our community. As we approach the end of our 40th year, we ask for your support through the next 40 years of trail building. Since 1982, the Platte River Trails Trust has been pursuing our mission of developing a river pathway that preserves the scenic, natural, and historic value of the North Platte River and expanding our community trail system to provide safe and separate non-motorized pathway options throughout the community. Our Masterplan was completed in 1982 and continues to inspire our work today to reclaim the river corridor and connect people to great places and spaces. The Masterplan included much of what we still pursue today, including non-motorized trails and pathways linking the westside and eastside of Casper and beyond.
Thanks to individuals, businesses, foundations, and local and state agencies, we’ve been able to accomplish a great deal over the past 40 years, including:
What we accomplish in the next 40 years will be because of supporters like you. Our Annual Giving campaign has officially kicked off and is an important catalyst for our work in the coming years. This campaign helps us raise critical funds to keep building and maintaining trails throughout Natrona County. Donations not only support trail expansion but also ensure our current trails are maintained to provide access to non-motorized transportation, outdoor recreation, and affordable and accessible exercise opportunities for all community members. We have great initiatives and projects on the drawing board, including:
The Platte River Trails Trust is thankful for your donation and grateful for all trail supporters and users. To join our Annual Giving campaign, you can donate by mail or donate via our website, where you’ll can find any and all trail support resources. As always, stay up to date with us and the trails by following Platte River Trails on Facebook, Instagram, and subscribing to our newsletter!
