After a successful inaugural year, we are excited to once again partner ART 321 for the launch of the 2021 Art for the Trails Public Art Market. This exhibition combines the incredible artistic talent in our community with the creative inspiration of the Platte River Trails; offering an incredible experience for our community to enjoy. This public art display will take place during the month of July and features local artist’s work along the North Platte River at the Tate Pumphouse and at ART 321. 2021 Art for the Trails will be a little different this year in a couple of ways. First, there will be two display locations, one at the Pumphouse and one at ART 321. Second, all of the works of art displayed will be available for purchase to support local artists and continued public art initiatives. Another twist on this year’s program is the that the exhibits will judged by local experts in the art community and awarded first ($1,000), second ($500), and third place ($250) prizes.
Interested artists should plan to attend the Art for the Trails: Public Art Market Kick-off Webinar on April 15th at 6:00 pm. Join us for a discussion around inspiration and processes for this year's event, including how to participate and instruction on applying. Submission forms will be available immediately following the webinar on April 16th and are due by June 1st. Instillation will take place June 29th and 30th. The exhibition will launch with an opening reception Thursday July 1st at ART 321 (during the Art Walk) and Friday, July 2nd at the Tate Pumphouse. The Pumphouse event will feature live music, food trucks, and guided art walks discussing the artwork. The 2021 Art for the Trails Public Art Market will remain on display through August 6th.
