Connecting Community Through Trails

11/16/2023

Platte River Trails was built by the community, for the community, to provide a non-motorized network of trails for the purpose of preserving our outdoor spaces and improving quality of life for all. Simply put, there would be no trails without you, our community. From local businesses to schools, parks, and neighborhoods, we’re connecting community through trails, and you can be a part of it.
The 2023 Platte River Trails Trust Annual Giving Campaign is centered around the importance and value of local trails and the essential role our partners, donors, and trail users play in keeping the trails expanding through Casper and Natrona County. Together with our supporters, our organization can continue to provide a network of trails that provide safe, non-motorized transportation and outdoor enjoyment opportunities in and around Casper and we’re so thankful for the support of the community in our pursuit of this mission.

Continuing to pursue trail projects, connections, and improvements is an important goal for 2024, and with your help, we can connect people to the places that keep them surviving and thriving. These trails that weave through town are more than just a walking path. Trails are an important asset to the community and the place we call home, and provide more benefits than what you see on the surface.

  • Neighborhood trails help kids, families, and new users access safe and separate non-motorized pathways to school, work, shopping, and other fun places in the community.
  • Trails help enhance and preserve our open spaces.
  • Trails make it easy and affordable to get regular exercise that improves the overall health of the community.
  • Property adjacent to trails can help attract buyers and make the property easier to sell.
  • Trails make our community attractive to prospective residents, inviting new people and new opportunities.

As you can see, a trail is more than its face value. In fact, we may not be able to truly measure the far-reaching impact these trails have on the community. What we do know is they provide family-friendly (+ fun!) exercise, non-motorized navigation through Casper, access to nature and the North Platte River, neighborhood connections, and a unique perk to our day-to-day lives in Casper.

Platte River Trails Trust is endlessly grateful for your support of the trails. Whether you’re a frequent trail user, a mile marker sponsor, or a visitor to our annual Riverfest celebration, we thank you for your support. We hope you’ll help us connect our community through trails by donating to our Annual Giving Campaign today.
