Spring is finally here to stay, and we need your help getting our trails ready for the summer season full of walking, biking, and exploring! There are so many reasons to get involved and volunteer for the annual Spring Clean Up, Saturday May 29th in Casper!
Keeping Our Community Clean:
The Platte River Trails Spring Clean Up, in partnership with Keep Casper Beautiful, began approximately 25 years ago as a way to clean up debris and garbage along the Platte River Trail. Today our focus has expanded to include the Casper Rail Trail and the Mountain Road Trail. This volunteer effort is vital to keeping the ecosystem clean and the surrounding area safe for people (and critters) to enjoy. It is through volunteerism that beatification projects such as these find success. By volunteering you can help keep the trails open, clean, and safe, improving our community’s recreational opportunities.
You Don’t Have to Do It Alone:
Build a team of volunteers with your family, friends, or co-workers. All ages are welcome, even the littlest of trail users! It is sure to be a great morning spent on the trails enjoying good company, fresh air, some exercise and a good feeling knowing you’re giving back to the community.
All Supplies Are Provided:
No need to bring trash bags or your favorite gardening gloves. Platte River Trails and Keep Casper Beautiful provides all the supplies you need to de-litter the trails. Simply check in at the Tate Pumphouse (located at 1775 W 1st St) at 8:50 AM, pick up your cleaning supplies, and tell us which section of the trails you’d like to beautify.
With so many reasons to get involved, make sure to mark your calendars and join us on May 29th from 8:50am-12:00pm! Summer is almost here, and the Platte River Trails will be filled with community member enjoying the great outdoors. Donating your time at the Spring Clean-Up will ensure our trails are clean and safe for the busy summer season!
