2022 is a milestone year for Platte River Trails Trust. We’re celebrating 40 of community trail building and on February 16, 2022, we kicked it off with our Virtual Annual Meeting. Together, our staff and board shared our organization’s 2021 accomplishments, plans for 2022, and projects on the drawing board that will significantly expand our trail system throughout the county. Appearances from two special guests rounded out the meeting, giving attendees even more to look forward to in the coming years. Although last year was anything but normal, it was a productive year for PRTT. Below are some achievements from 2021 we’re proud to share. 2022 marks a milestone year for Platte River Trails Trust. Our organization is celebrating 40 years of developing a network of community trails while preserving the scenic, natural, and historic value of the North Platte River. It is with great excitement that we share our goals for our 40th year as an organization. These 2022 goals are just the beginning; PRTT is committed to ongoing planning for new trail connections, maintenance of the trails we have in place, and enhancement of the River Trail and the Tate Pumphouse Trail Center. Here are four projects we have on the drawing board for the next four years and beyond:
Attendees of the Virtual Annual Meeting were fortunate to also hear from guest speakers from the Rails to Trails Conservancy and the Northwest Nebraska Trails Association. Both guests provided valuable insight and updates on the Great American Rail Trail and the work being done in NW Nebraska.
Our plans for 2022 are bold, ambitious, and achievable thanks to the unwavering support of community partners, donors and sponsors, and our board. Platte River Trails Trust is grateful beyond words to the many individuals, foundations, and businesses who contributed to our work in 2021. Our work is possible because of this support and we’re hopeful you’ll join us in 2022 and beyond!
