Organizations are only as strong as the leaders involved in them. At the Platte River Trails Trust, we are lucky to have twenty volunteer board members, who are committed to donating their time, expertise and personal resources to bring our trail projects to fruition. Bringing together a wide variety of talents and knowledge, the 2020-2021 PRTT board is a dedicated group of volunteers, who work hard to further our mission to connect our community through trails. “I am literally blown away at the other board members: their commitment to the trails and our community,” states Debra Swedberg, PRTT Vice President. “These board members are smart and connected to various elements in our county that help make projects go smoothly and successfully!” Each board member has their own reason for getting involved with our organization. From health and wellness, nature conservation and community development, to personal experiences on the trails, the passion behind their hard work and commitment is what makes it such a strong group. “The PRTT Board is made up of great, motivated people who have a passion for the trails, and work hard to accomplish great things for the community,” explains Eric Easton, PRTT Board Member. Not only has the board dedicated their time and talent to improving the Platte River Trails, but they also support the organization’s efforts financially, both personally and through donor cultivation in the community. PRTT Board Member, Nick McNamee explains, “the PRTT has great credibility in the community with a history of over 50 year of trail building. PRTT combines public and private funding and gets community improvement projects done.” We are beyond thankful for the incredible work and dedication of our board. Without their willingness to volunteer, advocate, and give to our organization, PRTT would not be able to accomplish our projects and programing. With trail use increasing dramatically in 2020, our board is focused on expansion and development in the new year, including a bridge to extend the River Trail to Robertson Road.
