Feels like we have been waiting a long time to say this….Spring has finally sprung in Casper! As Platte River Trails prepares for the busy summer season, we want to welcome you to explore ALL the trails our great community offers and share two exciting events to kick off this exciting time. While popular sections of our community trail system, such as the River Trail and Casper Mountain Trail, have already seen many runners/walkers, cyclists, and dog walkers, what many may not know is that there is likely a neighborhood trail right near your home. Such as the Long Drainage Trail, the Sage Drainage Trail or the Yesness Ponds trail. Next time you head out on the trails, be sure to check out our Trail Maps and see if there’s a trail in your neighborhood you have yet to explore.
Speaking of spring, trails, and bicycles, PRTT has two awesome events happening over the next two weeks that combines all three: The Community Safety Ride and the annual Spring Clean Up. However, due to COVID-19 precautions, both events are going VIRTUAL! Beginning today, join your fellow riders for the Virtual Community Safety Ride! From May 18-May 24th, we are calling all cyclists in Natrona County to join together (virtually) in solidarity to promote bicycle safety and the enjoyment of our community trails on two wheels! Participation is simple: just ride the suggested route, snap a pic, and share on Facebook and/or Instagram with the #ridetogether. Make sure you also tag PRTT so we can "ride together," while remaining socially distant. Learn more and view the suggested route here! Though we may not be able to gather like year's past, the trails still need a spring cleaning! From Friday, May 22nd through Monday, May 25th, join friends, neighbors, other trail users, Keep Casper Beautiful, and the PRTT for the Virtual Spring Clean Up. To spread out and respect social distancing guidelines, we’re asking all participants to select a section of the trail and sigh up ahead of time if possible. Click here to pick your trail section, sign up your crew, and download the require volunteer waiver. Keep following us on Facebook for news and updates on our spring events and all the trail happenings! Plus, reach out any time with any questions! Happy trails friends!
