Public art, particularly along trails, improves quality of life for residents by bringing art outside and allowing trail users the opportunity to have an experience with art without ever entering a building. This is why the Platte River Trails Trust, in partnership with ART 321, is excited to announce the artists and exhibits for the second year of “Art for the Trails, A Public Art Market.” Kicking off July 1st and 2nd, a public art installation comprised of approximately 24 works of public, environmental art will be displayed along the River Trail by the Tate Pumphouse and at ART 321. This public art installation will not only serve as a display of our local artistic talent but help to foster the sense of community pride and vision we are continually working to cultivate. This year, the artists’ exhibits will all be for sale, with a portion of the proceeds going to support artists and public art in our community, Platte River Trails Trust, and ART321. In addition, a panel of judges will pick three winning entries to be awarded with cash prizes.
