During this season of giving, Annual, or Year-End, giving campaigns are abundant this time of year. This year the Platte River Trails Trust is asking for your support, through our Year End Giving Campaign, to give a gift to the Casper-area community—to residents and visitors alike—a gift they can enjoy for many years to come. Whether you’re an avid trail user, a frequent commuter, or simply need a safe way to get from point A to point B, we hope you’ll join our efforts to “Build a Bridge to the Future” and join our campaign to improve the new Poplar Street bridge.
This month marks the Platte River Trails Trust’s 10th year at the Tate Pumphouse. A lot has happened since the organization preserved and renovated the river-side location in 2009 and as often happens with major milestones, PRTT is looking back at how it all started and asking for your help to ensure this beautiful space continues to serve the community for years to come!
Over the past 10 months, the Platte River Trails Trust has been busy working with our partner the City of Casper on long and short-term planning for trail projects community wide, including major maintenance of the River Trail as well as engineering for new trail segments (stay tuned for details!). Our Mile Marker Program is a major component of our annual budget that provides crucial funding for our efforts to improve and maintain trails throughout our community.
With fall just around the corner bringing cooler temps and beautiful colors, now is the perfect time to get out on the trails! The Platte River Trails Trust is proud of the work we’ve done and partnerships we’ve forged to connect trails in and around Casper. Our picturesque trail system will help you relax, unwind, and appreciate the beauty our area provides; beauty worth capturing in a photo.
Riverfest 2019 is right around the corner and as we gear up for another great event, it has us looking back on the history of Riverfest and how it became an annual end-of-summer event that can’t be missed!
Summer is certainly the busiest time for Platte River Trails Trust (PRTT) and the Casper trail system. While Casperites have long known what a jewel our trail system is, last month, the Rails to Trails Conservancy named the Platte River Trail the June 2019 “Trail of the Month!” in their quarterly magazine.
Very few people can say they have been with the same organization for 20 years but Angela Emery sure can. June 1st marks Angela’s 20th year as the Executive Director of the Platte River Trails Trust (PRTT) and if you’ve ever had the chance to visit with her about what she does, it’s clear she still has the same enthusiasm and drive that brought her to PRTT in the first place.
