​After 24 years of leading the Platte River Trails Trust, we bid a bittersweet farewell to Angela Emery ahead of her retirement at the end of March and welcome our new Executive Director, Rachel Spear.

​The future for the Platte River Trails Trust is looking bright and we can’t wait to share last year’s milestones and this year’s goals, at our 2023 Annual Meeting on February 15th! 

​​In 1982, the Platte River Parkway Trust was incorporated as a 501(c)3 with a mission to construct a non-motorized trail along the North Platte River while also maintaining and preserving the natural and historic value of the outdoor space. 40 years later, this citizen-led organization is as vibrant and energetic as ever.

​We have spent much of 2022 celebrating 40 years of the Platte River Trails Trust. During these four decades, the Natrona County community has watched our network of trails expand, grow in new directions, and become an essential asset to our community. As we approach the end of our 40th year, we ask for your support through the next 40 years of trail building. 

​With the announcement of current Executive Director, Angela Emery’s, retirement, the Platte River Trails Trust Board of Directors is now accepting applications for the Executive Director position for the Platte River Trails Trust. 

When the leaves begin to change colors, there is a noticeable shift in the community. Although the changing colors signal the leaves are dying, it is a time people truly come alive in Casper! The blissful moment between summer and winter brings so much opportunity and excitement only found this time of year.

​For the last 30 years, Casper has been gathering for a special, annual river festival, known today as Riverfest. Since 1992, this event has featured food and family fun and in 2000, the famous rubber ducks were added. Originally named the Parkway River Festival, this community event has evolved over the past three decades into a summer tradition loved by the Casper and surrounding area communities!

This year’s Riverfest, presented by Peterbilt of Wyoming, marks 30 years of enjoying Casper’s yummy food, delicious beer, and so much more in the name of trail building. With just over a month to go, we can’t help but spill the beans on some exciting things to come at our biggest fundraiser of the year! Check out five can’t-miss activities at this year’s Riverfest!

​After a great Spring Clean-Up on June 4th, and as we prepare for our 30th annual Riverfest, the Platte River Trails Trust is grateful for the supportive Board of Directors that help keep these and other events throughout the year possible. Along with our community and sponsors, our Board is an essential asset to the success and execution of our mission. Bringing trails to you would be impossible without the 15 community members that volunteer to serve on our Board.
